the swamp that trump created
When trump ran for office, he claimed he would “clear the swamp” but instead, we now know, thanks to investigative reporting by the New York Times, that he has created his own version of the swamp. We have had enough indictments, and folks forced from office because of scandals to prove that this administration is rotten to the core, but now we get more direct evidence of tump himself either instigating or allow others to coax him into basically selling influence in government policy.
That much of the personal section of the swamp is connected to trump’s business interests should come as no surprise. We know that early on it was known that people at Mar-a-Lago were pretty much a shadow cabinet with various degrees of access, even to sensitive information about what the nation was facing. That information, of course, consisted of issues that the American people as a whole had no direct knowledge of.
However, there are new incidences coming to our attention:
1. An businessman born in India petitioned trump to tweet about allowing more skilled workers to immigrate into the US. trump then confided to his supporters that the guy was the donor of a billion dollars. That showed up on a recording.
2. An Australian cardboard maker bought a reporter along to show off his access and was asked to take out an ad praising trump for promoting a paper mill and cardboard box factory in Ohio.
3. A real estate developer from Tennessee, who had donated lavishly to the trump campaign, wanted billions in loans, approached the president of the golf to ask for help. trump heard this and ordered his personal fixer, Michael Cohen, to make it happen.
There we have evidence of three examples of trump using his business as a way of allowing what essentially are bribes to influence his actions and decisions related to the policies of the United States.
That, after all the other flim-flam, that trump and his administration have done, with virtual impunity because the republicans in the Senate are complicit and insist on covering for him, that anybody would find this claim questionable is hard to believe. That swamp he claims was put there by the so-called “deep state” was more likely non-existent, or was at least efforts to use the knowledge that the intelligence community had to achieve what was seen as worthy goals for the nation.
Not so with trump’s actions. They are straight-up self-promotion and grabbing of power, pure and simple. We need to put an end to this corrupt and perhaps even traitorous administration before the nation is destroyed.
Vote Blue, and save the nation!!!!! The worst that Biden will be is business as usual from Obama and Clinton’s administrations. But doesn’t that sound like Heaven in comparison to this administration that we have foisted upon us now?!!
