The difference between anti-semetic and anti-right wing Jewish state
(bear in mind, this is the sharing of a personal opinion although it is backed up by history and my personal observation which I insists has relevance…I am NOT a spelling or grammar expect, although if I get a sign that a word is misspelled, I will try to correct it. Just remember, there is no editor)
First of all, this is my personal statement, based on what I have known for years, including my years growing up in a extremely right wing Christian home. My father was so submissive to authority that he felt that “the President knew more than he did so therefore he just agreed”. That was his position on politics.
On Israel, I don’t know what his position was, if he had one. I suspect however, that he would probably, in today’s world be pro-Israel. Let me emphasis, not pro-Jewish, but pro-Israel. There is a difference, a big difference. Don’t let the MAGA cult confuse you on the subject, they are likely the most anti Semetic group among us even though they spout pro-Israel sentiment. Here is my attempt to tell you why.
First of all, to help you understand my prospective, let me tell you MY view of the Jews. The Jewish people are a people that have ties to the ancient religion of Judaism. Whether they are religious or not, there are non-believers within their ranks, they feel an ethnic tie. That takes precedence in a lot of cases over any religious or philosophical tie. Thoughout history, the Jewish people have been very diverse, but the one thing they shared was that ethnic identity.
I applaud and honor that identity every bit as much as I honor my own Scotch-Irish identity or the French identity for those originating in the nation of French, etc. Religiously, while I was raised, as I mentioned already in an extremely conservative Christian denomination, I honor and accept all the various beliefs about “that which is greater”. I believe that religious belief is, and should be a personal decision based on the inner voice and the culture around one. Therefor, the Jews have as much right to their religion and their culture as does anybody. Because I see the Jews as a equal group, no better or worst than any other nationality or ethnicity, I feel free to criticize Israels politicy every bit as much as I would any other countries. They are people just like me.
But that is NOT actually the Christian-Zionist approach. What what, you may ask, is THEIR approach. Well, it is not pro semetic, in fact it is really just the opposite. You see, many, if not all, of them believe that Israel will rebuilt the temple. Is this a cause of celebration? Only in that it is a figure in their version of the “end of the world.”.
That’s right, they see victory of the Jewish nation against its enemies, including Palestinians who have a real complaint against the policies of the Israeli government and its backing of the settlements which continue to steal the homes of those Palestinians, as a step in their view of the victory that THEY hope to have. In other words, the end of the world, the return of Jesus, as they see that entity and the destruction of all enemies of Christianity.
Who do you think is the often-touted ENEMY? Well, anybody who doesn’t bow their knew to the Christian version of truth and godliness. Do Islamic occupt a place in tht enemies list? Yes, but so do Jews. In that Christian-Zionist theology, and Israeli victory is prelude to the return of the Messiah. At that point, they believe that suddenly all, or most of the Jewish people will suddenly declare “we were wrong all this thousands of years” and convert.
What happens if they don’t? Well, then they will join the Muslims, the Buddists, the Hindus and every other non-Christian belief system in the lake of burning fire forever. That is the great end victory that the Christian-Zionist look forward too, because there is apparently nothing more “Christian” that the idea of millions or perhaps billions of souls roasting in ending fire for eternity.
If you have ever wondered how Neo-nazis and anti-Jewish racists like Nick Fuentes are seemingly seen as allies by some of those right wing Christian Nationalists sums up the situation as well. When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas, as the old adage says. Christians who lie down with neo-Nazis who spout anti-semetic rants (another example of this is Marjorie Taylor Green with her Jewish Lasers) tend to get up with fleas also.
