Listening to informed opinion might just be what saves our lives during Covid-19

I think by now everybody knows that while I state my opinion in every piece, it is backed by evidence. I have, and will continue, to get my facts from reputable long time media. I don’t believe in obvious opinion sites, and certainly not opinion sites that cater to trump supporters.
The pro-trump sites use conspiracy theories, which are outright lies or twist pieces of evidence to make a whole that is most propaganda with a tiny bit of truth thrown in just to convince people. This has been going on for a while, but no time has it been such a “respected” approach than under trump. In fact trump gives his support, often tacit, but other times though full-throated endorsement. He does that through comments or retweeting outrageous attacks on decency and common sense on the part of extreme right wing adherents.
However, it is also to be said that INFORMED opinion is often a fair warning of what is likely to really be going on. This is no more obvious than in trump’s sudden turning to Jared Kushner as a go to person with Covid-19. What, precisely does this man have in the way of qualifications for such a job?
Actually, Jared should not even be in a sensitive position to start with. The intelligence community checked and found him not to qualified for a security clearance. The only reason he has one is because his father-in-law, trump, insisted on giving him one without proper approval. So, we have trump’s arrogance to thank for the fact that this very severe case of nepotism was allowed to proceed.
In addition, he has taken the possible that he “will straighten” this mess out. In other words, like his father-in-law, he is arrogant enough to think that somehow, without having medical training, he can do better than the experts in the field.
But who and what is Kushner? He is a real estate tycoon, just like trump. He has no expertise in medical care. He has no qualifications whatsoever in the field, and yet, trump seems to giving him equal voice with Fauci. The difference between the two men can not be overstated. Fauci indicates that when the Governor of New York says he needs 30,000 ventilators, he is most probably right. He does say that the ventilators may be somewhere fairly local but, in that case, he promises to help the governor find them.
And what does Kushner say? He has maintained that Cuomo is being an alarmist and doesn’t need 30,000 ventilators. In addition, he has taken the possible that he “will straighten” this mess out. In other words, like his father-in-law, he is arrogant enough to think that somehow, without having medical training, he can do better than the experts in the field.
This confirms the opinion expressed in the opinion piece in the New York Times that started this piece of digging out information. I believe the New York Times article is right and that listening to Kushner may just end up increasing the number of deaths. It is always dangerous when people with no knowledge or expertise in a field pretend to be experts, or in this case, have the arrogance to proclaim themselves expert are allowed to have such a huge voice in a decision making process than can and likely will cost lives over the next months.
Bottom line: Listen to Fauci, not to an upstart “real estate agent” pretending he knows what he clearly has no way of knowing. That’s my opinion, but it is backed by evidence and facts.
