Jan 6th testimony tells us what I knew back in 2014 — — Oath Keepers are Domestic Terrorists
Tuesday of this week, the Jan 6 bipartisan (in that two republicans had the backbone to do the right thing) committee listened to two former spokespersons for one of the domestic terrorist groups that tried to overthrow the government on Jan 6, 2021. Two persons with a history with the organization testified that Stewart Rhodes, despite his representations of being “for the people” did and does see his organization, the Oath Keepers, as a paramilitary group with intentions of using violence to get his way. That, folks, makes his organization a domestic terrorist group, which I have known since 2014.
In case any of my readers have forgotten what happened in 2014, here is a reminder. It was common knowledge at the time, but in case the details are spotty for you, see the Wikipedia link. Clive Bundy, a rancher had been advised in 1998 that he didn’t have permission to use federal lands for his private ranching activities and would need to start paying. After almost twenty years, he still had paid nothing, and when the Federal Marshalls tried to either collect or get him off government land, he and the Oath Keepers took up arms against the government.
Now, Obama was one of my favorite presidents during my lifetime. However, I was disappointed because he didn’t order the troops in to arrest and put the Oath Keepers that took up arms against the government in prison. Clive Bundy had been told by the courts that the idea that somehow the Federal government has no jurisdiction over Federal Land, as he was claiming was absolutely absurd. Federal land belongs to the entire country, not to a private citizen for his privately owned ranch. He was trying to actually STILL land from the rest of us and put it in his private coffers, and the Oath Keepers supported him in that thievery to the point of taking up arms and threatening violence.
If the administration then, had put these traitors against the United States in prison and kept them for the length that they deserved, we might not be in this mess now. In 2022, seven years later, we still have to contend not only with the neo-Nazis, The KKK, and the “Proud Boys” but also with this long-term domestic terrorist group. Now, in the testimony, it only says “paramilitary organization espousing violence”. That means, domestic terrorism, pure and simple!!!!!! I remember discussing with a person who stated he was part of the Oath Keepers at the time. I told him exactly what I think and thought then, that if he was, he was a member of a terrorist group. He tried to tell me he was working for the rights of all people. I insisted by helping a rancher steal federally owned property for his personal benefit, he was NOT working for my rights, or anybody else other than Clive Bundy, who I saw and continue to see as a land stealer. Oh, and they followed up this bit of chicanery by taking over a Federal Park a few months later.
And that points out to me and anybody that is right minder, that when groups like the Proud Boys or Oath Keepers engage in violence to get their way…whether it be about the land that they are trying to get for their own private use rather than for the benefit of all of us, or whether it is to get their way politically, as in overthrowing the government to install their “hero”, in this case, the crook that was in the White House from 2017 to 2021 (January), and they get away with it, they will repeat the action.
WE MUST DEMAND AND GET JUSTICE FOR THE INSURRECTION OF JAN 6TH, OR IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!!~!! AND THAT INCLUDES FOOT SOLDIERS AND LEADERS, NO MATTER HOW HIGH IT LEADS!!!!
