all but 7 republican senators are basically complicit with trump’s attempt at insurrection, and what the heck did McConnell just say?

By the large, many of the American people are very disappointed because today the decision was made to make sure that Jan 6, 2021, will go down in infamy. I watched the vote, and I can tell you that only seven Republicans had the guts to stand up against treasonous trump. Yeah, I know have a new name for him.

The Senate was presented with plenty of evidence taken not just the speech trump made where he appealed once more to the same group of bad actors that he had befriended so often before. I speak of course of people like QANON, The Proud Boys, The Oath Keepers, and even including groups that were just plain out and out bigots and xenophobes, as represented by the White Nationalists. Forty Free of the Republican Senators decided, in their “wisdom” that the behavior exhibited almost daily before the American people was perfectly ok, or at least not worthy of any sort of assignment of guilt which was obviously deserved.

I have had not much good to say about either Senator from Louisiana. However, I am proud to say that Bill Cassidy, although gosh knows it seems rare and took me totally by surprise, had the backbone to stand up and do what was right, not just with continuing the proceedings, but voted today to find trump guilty as charged, based on the evidence provided by the House managers. Now I know that if I have the choice of working to petition and put financial resources behind getting one of the one current Senators, I will focus on John Kennedy FIRST, although I would love to see Louisiana do what Georgia did, and flip Democratic.

The other six Republicans that put the country over trump were Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Pat Toomey, and Ben Sasse. As of now, those are the only seven Republican Senators that I have any respect for at all. As far as I am concerned, the rest of them put trump above the country and the American people and need, urgently to be voted out of office.
