Advice from a concerned American to President Zelenski

Dear President Zelenski:

As a normal everyday citizen of the United States, I have great concern for your nations future as an independent democratic nation. However, the United States has fallen into a horrible abyss in the last few months. We have fallen for the lies of one of the most anti-democracy men in the Western world. Not since Herr Hitler was defeated in 1945 and the valient German people returned to democracy and rule by the people has anything so horrible happened in the West.

Now I see that you are on the verge of entering into an agreement with the trump administration which will go a long long toward destroying your independence and ability to serve your nation and your people in the ways that THEY ask rather than giving in to the whelms of one of the most oppressively self-involved men in Western Society.

Let me enumerate what you are going to be faced with.

1. trump has already said he will not render any sort of security or help against the invasion of the autocratic Putin in his land grabs of your country. He will “leave that to Europe”. Those are the actual words out of his mouth.
2. he is demanding mineral resources which he intends to basically occupy your nation to get. Knowing trump’s anti-democratic attitudes that we are currently seeing him exhibit right now in the United States itself, that is simply another way for you to lose your independence, this time with trump (not the US as a whole but it might as well be since he seems to assume that even here he has total control)
3. You must NOT become part of NATO per trump. That’s another imposition on your independence and right to make your own decisions and hopefully Europe is there to stand behind you if you just have the nerve to say no to this terrible imposition on your soveign nation.
4. He wants to take your resources. I say that because the mineral resources in Ukraine belong to the Ukrainian people not just to you, and certainly not something you should offer up to trump in order to obtain his probably almost immediate betrayal of what he says will be in your interest.

Finally, and in summary, don’t fall for his “assurances” and rhetoric. He spouted stories of “making America great again” which none of us have been able to figure out anything other than a return to the robber baron, anti-working class (and Middle Class who are the ones that fueled our advances as a natain) age when the oligarchs like Elon Musk ruled the nation at the disservice of those who had to seek employment from his ilk. He and his actions along with the support from those like him are proving on a daily basis that they are the enemy of the American citizenry, and will be the enemy of your and your people dispite the words that they may utter that SOUND reassuring if you are led astray enough to fall for his lies and misrepresentations.

My advice to you is ignore trump. Establish relationships with France, Germany and Great Britian. Work with them to become part of the EU and/or NATO. Then all of you together move forward to defeat the land grabs by the oligarch fueled dictator Putin from the Kremlin. trump is really in cohorts with Putin as even in the last term he managed to weasel himself into, he sided with Putin against our own security agencies.

Don’t trust him, trust NATO/EU and the Europeans more broadly.
