Consider this an article on the editorial page of any newspaper in America. Yes, it is an opinion, but I would insist, it is an opinion based on FACTS. Some of those facts are presented in the articles linked and some were from a broadcast on NPR.

With the rabble-rousing right-wing bigots still believing the Big Lie that the former guy was re-elected in 2020 still running across a certain cross-section of the most insane in the country, we Democrats can not start too early to prepare ourselves for the 2022 and 2024 elections. I will restate what I have…

I am always torn as to whether to laugh or cry whenever (former guy) or (crook-in-chief) starts waxing nasty about someone, anyone, and their loyalty. It helps to remember that to him the word “loyalty” isn’t owed to the Nation but to himself personally. Of course, he never returns that loyalty, but that is what makes him who he is. This is a man who repeatedly told the BIG LIE that the election was rigged, and agitated till he convinced his followers to storm the Capitol. Nobody is ever going to convince me that he wasn’t actively behind that attempted…

I am not any longer mincing words to keep from offending right-wing snowflakes that might bunder onto this page. Republican governors are not advocating for their voter’s “rights” to run around carelessly, very often refusing to wear a mask and infect entire swaths of the American public. So, they think their right to live in careless abandon means that the rest of us have to also. Well, there is an old saying, “your rights remain until they smack me in the nose”. There is nothing that sums up the careless anti-vaxxer, and anti-maskers ever more than that…quite literally.

Covid is…

A picture from Jan 6th to illustrate the danger these groups are to the nation

I thought I was going to be posting an altogether different blog today. I was going to go into my defense of Biden and his response to the game that the “former guy” tried to play to make him look bad. I was going to issue an urging to those of us who believe in the Democratic Republic and fairness and equality for ALL, and not just the select rich white guys to remember how bad things were under “former guy” and to not even…

I had never believed in private school. That attitude results from my belief that people need to be exposed to all sorts of people. So often, private schools have been a way of keeping “momma’s little darling” from having to deal with Black people or poor people. You know, the type that isn’t considered as good or deserving as “momma’s little darling” in her arrogant opinion. But I have finally come around a bit on this issue.

In the days of Covid, I would encourage all parents that have the ability to either home school or…

I am taking the gloves off and not being polite anymore. It is time for the Anti-Vaxxer and Anti-Masker idiots to either come to the table or suffer the results of their selfishness just as those who insist on driving while intoxicated do. Their continuing endangerment of all of us is no longer acceptable and hasn’t been for some time, but part of the problem, sadly, is with Governors and other leaders not doing what they could and should have done to encourage the preservation of life. …

We have had some successes in the last week. Actually some very good successes. While there is more that needs to be done, including a solid voters’ right legislation to circumvent the effort in various Republican-run states to impose a new version of the Jim Crow era. However, we need to celebrate the good things that do get done as well as plan and fight in every legal avenue possible for those still outstanding.

The first item to celebrate is that the Senate was able to pass a bipartisan physical infrastructure bill by a vote of 69–30. This bill, supported…

Finally, the senate seems to have come together in a bipartisan manner on the physical infrastructure bill because apparently even Republicans realize that crumbling bridges are not safe for anybody. However, although that bill was hyped as being a 1 trillion dollar investment, it seems to have been almost cut in half to 585 billion. But at least it passed, now the Democrats are going to go ahead and actually try to do something to actually help the average American rank and file citizen.

It will take the Democrats sticking together so I urge everybody lucky enough to have a…

Early last week, many of us saw the moving testimony of four police officers that dealt with the brutal, nasty attack on the Capitols waged by Trump partisans in their attempt to overturn the rightful and honest election of Joe Biden, our 46th President. There is no doubt in my mind that this insurrection was caused, directly, by the words “fight hard” and “trial by fighting” that were uttered by those that had spent much of their time advocating for the overthrow of the election verbally at every opportunity. We live in hope that the House Committee will get to…

I have to thank my friend Amodovw for the title of my post today. Until I read his post, it was going to be “what happened to the Republican party’s moral fiber since Nixen” and was going to about how with Nixon and the Watergate Break-in and his antics to cover up that illegal invasion of the Democratic headquarters, the Republicans themselves finally reach the decision that they could not, and would not continue to cover for him and that basically, he was on his own. He then resigned and was pardoned by Ford and the disaster ended. trump, who…
