The title is from a view that I didn’t originally come up with but one that I nevertheless agree full-heartedly with. It actually comes from the statement by the Republican Governor of Alabama. Looking around at her state and the health crisis that still continues, however, she came to the only conclusion that any reasonable person could come to. Something like 38 percent of her citizens have wisely gotten the covid-19 vaccine and are healthy. However, there is a huge group that refuses to either get the vaccine or even practice social distancing or wearing masks.

I like President Biden and think he is doing a good job considering all the obstructionists in Congress, including one or two in his own party. However, nobody is perfect and nobody notices everything that needs to be done. Everybody needs input in order to do their job better and more comprehensively. Our having a truly decent human being as a President does not absolve us, as citizens, from bringing things to his attention that we think need to be.
